Hello

How do we get an editor to look 2 categories that have not had an editor for at least a year?

As our site is an online magazine that covers multiple verticals we must add our listing to the following 2 categories. Our one site covers house/home/family/pets/health/décor…etc. thus it cannot be added to category that has a editor. Our second site cover multiple pets, thus we cannot just lit it under dogs or cats.

We added our main ‘Home” site to http://www.dmoz.org/Regional/North_America/Canada/News_and_Media/Magazines_and_E-zines/ on September 11 / 2013.

We added our ‘Pet” site to http://www.dmoz.org/Recreation/Pets/News_and_Media/ on September 12th

Thank you,
David Beart

you can't
Editors are volunteers that work where and when they want.
There is no option to control in which category they work or which sites they will look at.
For that reason time between suggestion of a website and it being reviewed can vary between a few days and several years.

btw no category is without editors who can work in it

Thanks for responding to my question. If no editor reviews the categories where I believe our site belongs, should I try another category? As mentioned I am positive our sites belong in the categories I selected as several of our competitors are listed there.

certainly not.
you should suggest a website only ONCE to the ONE best category

If you deliberately suggest a website to the wrong category, this is what happens.
1. Eventually, some editor will find it and move it to the correct category for further evaluation.
2. It will then wait for some editor to find it there.

In other words, the time scale will be longer and editor 1 will have spent unnecessary time processing your website.

Thanks for letting us know that we should not re-submit our website again to a different category. Hopefully when an editor reviews our categories they will approve us as our main site has over 2,500 original articles, the other over 400.
