How do I know my site has been reviewed?

I first submitted by site about a month ago and was visited by someone from dmoz about 10 days ago. Having not appeared in the dir after a couple of days, I decided to submit again. My site has again been visited from dmoz and is still not listed.

Am I being presumptuous in assuming that these visits were in fact reviews?

Is there any way that I can tell if my site has been reviewed and discarded?

Just in case you would like the reference, my site is:
www.marctwo.co.uk
and I submitted to catagory:
http://www.dmoz.org/Shopping/General_Merchandise/M/

I understand from other forums that when a site is accepted, it's included straight away. Is this so?

Since the ODP use a cluster of cache servers to handle the massive load we get on our public side, it might take up to a week (or more) for updates to show on the public side.

Even if a site is visited, it doesn't mean that it is reviewed for publishing. If a site is deleted, moved or just put on hold because an editor want to get other editors opinion on a site, it is usually visited by one or more editors.

Once 30 days have passed since your most recent submission you can go to the submission status forum and request the status there.

Please read the announcement concerning the scheduled down time.

Not presumptious but jumping to a false conclusion. Our systems might visit a website for all sorts of reasons, and not necessarily human initiated.

When an editor reviews a site s/he has 4 options.
  • Accept it
  • Decline it
  • Decide to look at it later
  • Move it somewhere else
The ATTENTION - Forum Guidelines - READ BEFORE POSTING thread requires that you wait at least a month from your most recent submission before asking for a status report here. In your case, that isn't until January 3rd.
