How do I move my ODP listing to a different category?

A couple of years ago, I submitted my website to the Spanish DMOZ category. Today, the English version of my site is much more comprehensive than the Spanish version. How can I move it from the Spanish category to the appropriate English category? It's a travel guide website. The URL would stay the same, since the Spanish listing already links to the homepage, which is now set to the English version of the site. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Since the site is bilingual, there's no need to move it.

We are quite happy to list the root URL in both languages. Simply suggest it to the appropriate English language category.

Thanks for your answer. That's what I was thinking too, so I had submitted my site to the appropriate English category more than one year ago. But I don't know if it was rejected or not. I was concerned that it was rejected because the URL is already listed. Is there a way how I can see if it has been rejected?

Sorry, there is no way for you to see if a suggestion is rejected.
But don't worry. Sites won't be rejected because it is already listed under another language.
If the site is listable (does it have enough unique content in English and is it a real translation - not some machine trying to translate) than it most probably is still waiting review.

Yes, the site should definitely be listable. It has about 1,000 articles and only unique content. I wrote all the content myself. All translations were done by native speakers, no translation machines. The website also has about 800 original photos and some videos (which I also did myself). I cannot imagine that the site is waiting to be reviewed after more than one year because it's a popular category that is frequently being updated.

This is absolutely normal, because:
  • volunteer editors are free to edit as much or as little as they choose,
  • reviewing sites suggested by other people is not a priority,
  • and that is just one of a great many editing activities from which they can choose

Or, to put it another way, in the words of jimnoble:
You might have misunderstood our objectives and how we operate here. ODP is a volunteer organisation building a directory as a hobby. Editors edit where they wish, when they wish and as much as they wish within the constraints of their permissions. We have no schedules or systems to force people to do work that they don't volunteer to do. ODP is not primarily a free listing service for website owners and it does not attempt to process their listing suggestions within the time scales desired by them.
