How do you add an Avatar

In my profile under edit avatar the spot is filled that says 'don't use an avatar'. How can I change this and upload an image to my profile?

No, not directly related - you need to have editor+ status in these forums for the avatars and signatures to be enabled.
(that's the relation, as Dmoz is closed, we can't accept any new editors - but will upgrade past ones, in this thread... )
