How do you re-use a previous thread to check site submission status?

I could not find any information on how to re-use the original thread I had posted regarding my site submission status, after waiting the suggested 30 days after the last possible site submission. Is there something I need to do when I edit it?

Just go to the thread and click either "post reply" ; "quote" or "quick reply" button of the last entry in the thread.
