How does a "joe nobody" suggest a new cat?

I have been unable to find an answer on how - just a plain 'ol web site owner - may be able to suggest a new catagory. I know there are very few new things in the world and this may be the reason, but I thought the question may have general interest, so I am posting it here.

I recently (after a week of arguing with myself) submitted http://www.filterscience.com to
http://www.dmoz.org/Shopping/Home_and_Garden/Emergency_Supplies/Shelters/ even though it didn't seem right because we make a very specialized air supply for those shelters - not the shelters. What we manufacture is a product which has never been sold to the home before - kind of like selling air-conditioners in the 1940's. People say HUH.

But, unfortunatly, in the years to come, many more people will be searching for a catagory that sells Nuclear, Biological and Chemical air supplys - and I'd like to suggest it - but don't know how.

I would suggest that site a level up in Shopping/Home_and_Garden/Emergency_Supplies/ . If you can find at least 5 other sites selling air filters serving this purpose, suggest them also and append in the description something like [suggest new subcategory Air Filters]. When an editor looks in the unreviewed pool, they will likely notices the batch of sites with this note and can then consider your suggestion.
