Hello guys

I had my website listed in your directory a week or so ago, :) but i have no link showing with any engines as yet, how long does this normally take and how often does dmoz get spidered?

Kind regards

No idea :)

We have no control over whether and when the directory is spidered. You'll just have to wait and see!

An ODP listing does not necessarily result in a search engine placement at all.

I'll give you the same advice I would have given you two weeks ago, and it is still just as valid as it was then: promote your site just as if the ODP didn't exist, or just as if the ODP wouldn't list it. Because whatever benefit the ODP gives will not be enough to make a site successful by itself.

Thanks for that, i do promote my site and added it so cartain quality directories and other sites evey day, but not many are as big as this directory and everyone knows that being here is just one step to better things. :)

Why wouldnt being listed show up on the in a search engine, i have my site listed with over 500 directories and if i do i link search all show up, so why would dmoz be any different

As you can see im still learning all about this stuff

Kind regards

Dawn,

The algorithms that Search Engines use to find sites and order them in terms of search results is usually a secret known only to them (and speculated on endlessly by those who make a living out of said results).

The ODP isn't affiliated with any search engine, and we have no control over how or even if they use the data.
