How long does in take in average to get listed???

I know that you don't answer status reports anymore but how long does it take in avergae to get listed in yor directory. When I added my site approx. 1 year ago I heard horror storries about 3-6 month but couldn't believe it. Now I am waiting for almost 11 months and still only get messgages telling me to be patient - hey how long and grey shall my beard get before I can join the big family of DMOZ listed web sites?

In view of the fact that the vast majority of submitted sites are not listable, the concept of "average" doesn't correspond to anything in reality.

When someone follows the guidelines and submits only one of a set of related sites only once then they stand a little better chance of being listed quicker than someone with a history of submitting multiple related URLs. The latter takes time for an editor to work out which is the main URL to consider, which are the secondary URLs to clean up, and might therefore be a lesser priority. A large proportion of suggestions are considered with a few days or weeks, more difficult suggestions and those to very popular categories with a history of spam can take several years.
