Hi there,

Just wondering, is there a delay in how long it takes for a site to appear in the DMOZ directory after it has been approved by the category editor?

I submitted my site to a category last week which hadn’t been updated since late last year. I found yesterday that the "last updated" section has changed to 14th April 2010. To my supprise my site is not listed. and the exact same 8 sites are still listed in the same order as before.

Im not asking if my site has been accepted or not.

I just would like to know if simply there is a delay when a site i accepted by a editor? and also is there a delay in the changes made to when the "last updated" stamp at the bottom of the page.

thanks,

The "last updated" date at the bottom of a category page doesn't mean that an editor has reviewed any suggested sites. There are a number of editing actions that can cause that date to change, including updating an existing listing, deleting a site, or changing some category features. Even if one or more sites were added to the category when it was last edited, that doesn't mean that an editor reviewed suggested sites.

If your site is listable per our guidelines, you'll know it's been reviewed when it appears in the category.

OK, we've already established that you can't know when your website is being reviewed by an editor--and, so long as it's available to surfers, you can't know when it's not being reviewed either.

BUT--once the site is listed, you can take the time interval you're asking about, subtract the hypothetical delay time (generally no time, as motsa says), and guess approximately when it was reviewed.
