Resubmit it. Your new submission will overwrite the old one.

If you suggest the site again to the exact same category your new suggestion will overwrite the previous one.

Do not change the category. Just submit to the same category with the new details.

Editors will decide which category the sites fits best.

Hope this helps.

hmm

I don't think I'll reach addind my site to the category where i submited. Too much dirty competition there. I see a better (and and faster!) place where i can try to submit. So can u tell me, what bad can happen if submit a site to anothert category ?

We request that a site is suggested in the one best category. So either you didn't do that the first time or you won't be doing it the next time. If you only want to suggest it to an other category because you think it will be processed faster you are not only doing things against our guidelines but you very probably will make your waiting time longer and you even have a chance to be marked as a spammer.

I see that ODP business is good segregation, but a "better" category for me is more global place, where editor propably isn't too strong related with it (i mean he have a well knowladge about category, but making daley in adding sites is not his adventage).
I heard about some crooked actions, thats why I decided too change category.
Simply: a better category for me is there, where suspicion about unfair editor is less.
Maybe it's just my misconception

Submitting to a directory is not about the category that suits your likes best, but about the category that suits the site best. If you submit somewhere else except the category where the site belongs, an editor will need to move it there. Unreviewed. So it will just need another step until it is listed, which will increase the processing time.

I think my site realy fit to 2 categories. I can be wrong.
But second category i found seems suits the site best, so if I submit it there (after I've submited it to another) something wrong will happen? Maybe I shouldn't change it??

Ok. You really want to submit twice?

Submit to the new category using a title and description that fits our guidelines and add after the description: [ignore other suggestion in /Business/Widgets/Red/].

Resubmit to the original suggestion to the original category using the description [I have also submitted to /Shopping/Gadgets/Twisted/Red/ which I think is a better match]

Editors will list one (IF it is listable) and delete the other - but you're already giving the editors twice as much work to do, processing two suggestions for the one site.

With just the one suggestion in place (as currently), it will either get listed where it is, or moved to another, better, category (or deleted if not listable at all).

Giz,

I'm trying to understand what you said and adapt it for my situation. In my case, my site is in the queue (somewhere) for two categories. Because it has been there for 2 years, the site has changed over time. Now I think it more appropriately goes in a higher level category (which is neither of the two it is currently queued in). Should I submit it to the third category (which is the only one I would want it listed in) in the format of "description [ignore other suggestions]"?

No don't submit again - if the editor who reviews your site determines it needs to be in a different category, they will move it. Having multiple submissions in multiple categories can sometimes lead to accidental deletion of all the submissions when someone goes through deleting duplicate sites.

ok, thanks. I guess it is time for me to apply for editor status in those categories then, since as far as I can tell they have not had any movement (that I have noticed) in two years.
