You're not in trouble, :).

There could be several reasons. Your site might have been down temporarily and one of our automated tools might have placed it in our unreviewed for an editor to investigate. Once an editor clicks on it and sees that it's working again, it will be re added to the Directory. (if it still qualifies)

Or, an editor may have moved it to another category that it better fits in. A lot of times new subcategories get created when we get enough sites to justify creating it.

Do a search in the Directory by leaving off the www. part of your url.

I believe that a site that has been greenbusted (i.e. reviewed by an editor but needing to be checked by another editor) will have that effect as well.

If it´s not listed you can´t update the non-existing listing...

If it´s not listed 2 months after suggestion it´s probably just waiting to be reviewed, and you shouldn´t suggest it again.

Why don't you just wait until such time as the site is actually listed before you try to get it updated.

No. You should suggest the main URL (and only the main URL) of your site to the single best category you can find.

Please only submit a URL to the Open Directory once. Again, multiple submissions of the same or related sites may result in the exclusion and/or deletion of those and all affiliated sites.

That is a different matter. It is because Indiamart host the sites for other companies, in the same way that geocities hosts web sites.

Those hosted sites are listed when they contain sufficient unique content on their own behalf irrespective of what the parent site is, or does.

Ignore whether or not your site is a portal. The root of the site should have all the information about the site as a whole, and what you (the business) does. In general expect the root of the site to be listed once.

When you offer to host other companies sites, those sites may also be listed (if they qualify) but not because of what you do, rather because of what the company with the hosted site does.

As an example, geocities has about 93,000 hosted sites listed, but the root url http://geocities.yahoo.com/ is listed once in http://www.dmoz.org/Computers/Internet/Web_Design_and_Development/Hosting/Free/Personal/ as thats what the site (mostly) is about.

It's a matter of editorial discretion, not submitter request, and we don't have an opinion to discuss here. People suggesting websites are required to submit the root url just once to the one best category. Don't be tempted to suggest lots of deep links or subdomains lest you be taken for a spammer.

If you have proof of editorial abuse, by all means report it.

If he violates the guidelines and lists a site that is not listable in a category he edits or expedites a review for a friends site, he would be abusing his privileges.

The post above answered the question you asked. I'd say that your problem is not getting the right description :p

When I submit my site, it is not taken by Dmoz and said site is already exits (wow !!!!!!) but when I checked at the that category, nothing about my site
I think that the message you are getting is supposed to occur if the site is already listed in the category. If you can't see it listed there, then it may be that the public side hasn't updated to reflect recent changes, or that the site has been "greenbusted" and must wait the approval of another editor before appearing. In all three of these cases it would be unproductive for you to suggest your site again.

If you provide a link to the category, maybe someone will take a look.
