Hi
Is there a way to find out if a site has been rejected or is still waiting review?

Thank You
Mark

Hi Mark
No you will not be told. Apart from all the work involved, we never know whether the suggestor had anything to do with the site and it would only encourage 'arguements'.

You are the best person to see whether there is anything specific stopping your site being listable by checking through our editing guidelines and the descriptions for the chosen category and (especially in commercial categories) all the categories above. After that the rule of thumb is to look at the sites in the chosen category and compare it with yours in terms of unique content.

If you are happy that it is probably listable, then probably it is sitting in unreviewed waiting.

Hi Eric
Thanks for the fast reply.
I understand that the ODP does not send denial or approval letters and the reasons why.
I was just curious if there is a way to find out either way. I don't want to be a pest to an by re-submitting my site.
The only reason I am curious enough to inquire is that I submitted to a small category about five months ago (guessing) and my products and content are very unique.

Thank You
Mark

If you suggested a site there are a few possibilities

1) it is listed -> no reason to suggest it again
2) it is rejected -> no reason to suggest it again
3) it is still waiting reviw -> no reason to suggest it again
4) an editor moved it to a better category -> no reason to suggest it again

So please explain me why you would like to suggest your site again.

To satisfy your curiousity, you need to read our FAQ where questions like 'How long until my site will be reviewed?' are answered. :)
