After 1 year our site was finally listed, which is great :) but I feel it is kind of being tucked away and perhaps hidden. The reason I feel this way is because they put the site name broken up so it doesnt make sense, placed the description in a different language when it is in English on the site and to add insult to injury the editor used a domain alias instead of the actual domain that the link goes to for the listing. Is there anyway to correct this and perhaps get the right link, title and description and possibly the category it was submitted too instead of 1 off to it's little lonesome?

Go to the category where the site is listed, and click on "Update listing" at the top of the page. Fill out the form and submit the request. This will alert editors to the fact that the site needs a re-review, and most editors treat update request as a priority.

Which does not need to be a problem. At DMOZ we will list a site in the most appropriate category.

> because they put the site name broken up so it doesnt make sense,
The title should be the name of the company or website. If the current lisiting is not correct you can ask for an update (provide the correct name and a reason why it should be changed)

> placed the description in a different language when it is in English on the site
This could be correct of the site is available in both languages. Sites can be listed under each language that is available on the website. Ofcourse if the site is only in English it should only be listed in an English language category with a description in English.

> and to add insult to injury the editor used a domain alias instead of the actual domain that the link goes to for the listing.
This has nothing to do with insult. If a website is available under more than one url we list the url that seems most appropriate. (again, if it is not the right one please ask for an update)

Corrections can be asked for but will only be done when the site gives prove that the update needs to be done. Being lonesome is not a good reason.

A note on languages for descriptions:

The ODP is a multilingual directory, that really consists of a separate direcotory for each language. A site can be listed at least once under each language in which it provides sufficient unique content. For each language, the description must be written in that language and be describing the content available in that language.

So if a site has content in the Thai language, it can be listed somewhere under http://www.dmoz.org/World/Thai/ with a description written in Thai. If the site also has content in other languages it can be listed under other languages too. These other listings are independent of any listings in World/Thai. (Note that World/Thai/ is for sites using the language, and is not limited to sites about Thailand. Nor are sites about Thailand limited to World/Thai/.)

(To add to the confusion, we don't have World/English/ but instead list the English categories directly under http://www.dmoz.org/ )

For more details see: http://blog.dmoz.org/2009/03/04/where-in-the-world-is-odp-everywhere/

This has been very useful feedback for you. It's apparent that there's a great deal of confusion on your various domains as to exactly what the name and main entry point of the website is: so much that a surfer, evidently trying to figure that out, came up with different answers than you were expecting.

The same design errors that misled our volunteer editor, surely will mislead other surfers -- until you fix them.

Don't tell us what you mean in this forum -- that won't affect the listing. And it's always a mistake to go running around after your previous visitors, saying, "what you thought you saw on the website wasn't what I meant!"

Fix the site! Get your domains straightened out, so that anyone visiting any of them can immediately figure out what the main domain is. Get your linking straightened out. Use the real company name throughout. And then you won't have to worry about visitors getting the wrong impression.

Exactly how to do that, we can't discuss here. But you know the problem now. And that's progress.

All domains are correctly done in .htaccess with 301 redirects. The site header with site name carries throughout the entire site, Only the main domain appears on the site. I thank all of you for the advice and input and I will submit the formal edit request as directed. Thank you All
