I have been submitting my accounting practice site for months without any success. I have submitted it to the appropriate subcategory: accounting firms in Connecticut. Help!

Some volunteer will process your listing suggestion in time but we can't predict who or when that might be. Elapsed times can range from a few days to a few years. There is no need to re-suggest your website and doing so could be counter-productive because a later suggestion overwrites any earlier one.

Not a good move. Every time you did this, you agreed that you had read the instructions, which clearly state
Multiple submissions of the same or related sites may result in the exclusion and/or deletion of those and all affiliated sites.

So how do you know if the site was declined or not? In my category, there are only 8 sites listed. The main players in the market are not even there. RaceDeck, FloorJunkies, AmorProxy, SwissTrax or JNK which are the biggest sellers of garage flooring are not even listed. How do you know when you can resubmit? Or once you submit once, you can't do it again, ever?

So how do you know ... In my category ... How do you know ... Or ...?
These questions and more are helpfully answered in both the extensive public ODP documentation and in the FAQ linked at the top of every page of this forum.
However, if you have any questions not answered in either of those places, you are welcome to ask here. :)

If you think we're missing listings of some valuable resources, why not suggest them yourself? Anybody can suggest a website, not just the owner :).

hello, jimnoble,

may I ask you a qurestion?
Generallly speaking, how long the submited site would be reviewed by editors? and when can we treat the submission failed if not get listed? 1 month, 2 month later...

Thanks for your suggestion!:p

There is no general time between a site being suggested and it being reviewed.

> and when can we treat the submission failed if not get listed?
A suggestion is failed when you do not get the confirmation message on your screen directly after making the suggestion.
The rest is not failure. A site can be accepted (listed) or rejected. If it is rejected we just do not want to list it.
In all cases (accepted, rejected or still waiting review) there is no reason to suggest the website again.

Accepted/rejected/etc

Is there a list of rejected sites so I can see if my site was rejected?

There is no such list, because there is already a simple way to see if your site is not suitable for inclusion: please visit http://www.dmoz.org/guidelines/include.html#notinclude

However, if your site does meet the criteria for inclusion, then it will be reviewed by an editor at some stage, but we don't know who or when that will be. You can read much much more on this topic in the forum FAQ and innumerable threads here. ;)
