The easiest way would be to put up a notice or redirect on the old url that points to the new one and then navigate to the category it is listed and use the "Update Listing" option at the top of the category page. Follow the instructions on the update page and submit. Then an editor will have to review the request and if warranted make any necessary updates or changes. There is no time frame for processing updates but they usually take a higher priority with most editors.
This procedure only works if the site is currently listed in the directory. I didn't look to verify, so I am speaking generally based on your post saying it is. If the site is not currently listed then you would need to suggest the new url.

DMOZ doesn't have any control over who owns your (or anyones) domain. If you let the registration expire without renewal, then someone else is free to purchase it and use it in anyway they wish. You would have to contact the new owner to inquire about reaquiring it. As bobrat said it appears that the old url is now for sale by the new owners, so as of now it is available to purchase by anyone who is interested.

Dear shadow575,

Thanks for your reply, but it is not true...

I have tried to call them (long log time ago...) to re-new my unionbrothers.isunv.com, but they refused...they said "we are in other business; and no longer will rent space to the public anymore"

I have put yaers of efforts to promote above site, if there is any hope, I have no reason to give it up...

Is that means, all my efforts become worthless only because my old host firm stop its business?

The Open Directory and its volunteer editors are not involved in any of your hosting or domain name registration transactions.

We list sites under their current addresses. That is all. And ... the fact is, much much more important and valuable internet work than yours has been lost on occasion. We as editors may grieve (or not), but we have no power whatsoever to restore those lost sites.

All we do, all we CAN do, is ... list sites under their current addresses. And the way you tell us a current address is ... suggest the site.

Thank you.

Never ask for grieving. Life goes on.

Just try to “update listing” if possible….since dmoz offers it….and it may get priority attention.

You cannot update a listing that has been removed. You can only resuggest the site under its new name.
