Good morning,

Having lurked in the background for several months I decided it was about time to come into the light. Somewhere I recall reading about an avenue by which one could bring to the attention of the DMOZ editors links or sites that were no longer functioning or required updating. If someone could push me in the correct direction it would be appreciated.

You got close on your third post. ;) There's a thread stickied at the top of the QA forum for things like this so I moved the thread you'd created there into that thread.

Thank you

Thank You, I found where you placed the post.

When looking back at what has been submitted, some of the posts have comments indicating that an editor has made corrections. However, most of the posts do not have a comment. Does the lack of a comment indicate posts yet to be reviewed by the editors?

I think you will find that where posts re dead links, etc do not have an immediate reply, there will be a reply somewhere further down that immensely long thread. Periodically an editor will check that all reports have been reviewed.

Usually the reply will simply say that the post has been dealt with. That is mainly to notify other editors, so that time is not wasted in duplicating effort. Sometimes there will be a comment on a particular listing, to explain to the person who reported it why a change has not been made.

Thank you. It looks like a couple thousand replies but, when you start reading them it quickly feels like a few million. It is wonder that you guys find time to sleep. Thanks for your time.

Yes, people complaining about dmoz.org being slow should check that thread... I made a few reports from a complex category and they dealt with them in a matter of hours, or even minutes!

I believe it's a good way also for people that are not accepted as editors to help a bit and make this project even better.
