Hi,
Sorry if this question was discussed before, i couldn't find in the forums. I want to add a new category in "world". How do i make a request? The category i want to add is malayalam, language of kerala state in india.
Languages that aren't ready for the public directory start out in a test section. Malayalam is at http://dmoz.org/Test/World/Malayalam/ , waiting for someone who knows the language to help with it.
Once a test language is ready, it gets moved to the public directory.
hi,
thanks for the quick reply. How do i become an editor for a test category? Is it still the standard proceedure? I am interested in joining to maintain this category.
Yes, it's the same procedure. I would recommend putting your application in English, though, since there likely aren't any meta editors who can read Malayalam (explain why you're doing that on the application and feel free to put a link to this thread as part of that explanation).
Hi,
I applied for editing world/test/malayalam category as we discussed. I got an email and i replied to that immediately. But after than there is no response yet. Is it still under review? How do i know the status of the application?
It can take some time for an application to be reviewed. You should get an email once it's been reviewed. 14 days after you applied, you can post in the Become an Editor forum to get a status on the application if you haven't heard anything by then.
My question is regarding the Malayalam language.
There is a site that is multi-lingual - Both English and Malayalam can be displayed - not as separate directories though - it is dynamic which can display both English and Malayalam on the same page on selection.
Can this be sumitted to Kerala or one its sub-categories or does it have to be submitted to World ?
