how to submit article to right category

I had an article listed by DMOZ on another website which is now inactive. However, I started to run my own website earlier this year, which includes that article ("Political corruption in the ranks"). I submitted my url twice (5 months and 3 months ago) to the same category as the article (/Regional/Asia/Japan/Society and Culture/Politics), but didn't get a response. Each time I submitted, there wasn't an editor available. So I resubmitted my url to another category last month (/Arts/Online Writing/Non-Fiction). Did I do the right thing?

Thank you for pointing me to the FAQ. There appears to be some changes in processing submissions. But a question remains: Does an editor reply to every submission, including rejections? If so, one time submission would obviously be enough.

No, editors do not reply to every suggestion. In fact very few editors ever reply to any suggestion.
