How to submit site with new url?

I'm wm for The Hampstead Authors' Society. We are moving our site to a new url: www.hasweb.org

The new site is in fact up, but the old url www.societyofauthors.org/HAS/
also remains valid until 31st May, when it will be deleted.

We'd like to get www.hasweb.org indexed in the ODP, so my question is, what's the procedure for submitting a new url of a site already listed under an old, but soon to be invalid, url?

Change the existing site to redirect to the new one - maybe just a "this page has moved" sign, with tthe new URL, clickable, to help your users.

(The ideal would be for your old webmaster to do a so-called 301 redirect, but I am guessing form the URL that this might not be possible.)

Then submit an "Update Site" request in the category where you are currently listed and apply for the URL change.

If you do it like this, it should be just a formality to get it changed.
