how to tell if site was submitted prior to me working here

is there a way to find out if someone submitted a site already? I'm doing SEO for this client and 1) don't want to submit if it has already been done by someone else and 2)can't remember if "I" submitted it when I first started working for him several months ago (i don't have a record of it and i'm usually pretty good about stuff like that) but I really don't want to chance it and at the same time i don't want to miss out on the opportunity for my client to be listed on dmoz. thanks!

If the previous SERP efforts involved really really bad submittal abuse, then--there's probably nothing you can do to help, but one suggestion won't hurt either.

If the previous SERP efforts didn't involve abusive submittals, then one more suggestion won't hurt, and might help.

If there were no previous SERP efforts, one suggestion is the right thing to do.
