This site will not be listed as it is a mirror of a site already listed one category above where you submitted.

Thanks,

I didn't remember submitting the mirror site but I guess I did. Any way of getting the mirror site in the cat above this removed so I can resubmit this site? What would you recommend?

Thanks again.

Why? The one that is already listed in the one that matches the company name and so is the most appropriate of the mirrors. Do I take it you're looking to try to take advantage of the keyword loading of this URL?

Oh, and the existing listing is now in the Pregnancy and Ovulation subcat (not the Tests parent cat) since that what's you offer.

If the two sites are exact copies, we'll just keep the one we have listed as there is no advantage to us, or our users, in changing the URL.

We are actually not going to be using the www.testsforless.com URL for much longer and are currently having it removed from all search engines via our robots.txt file, it is already gone from most of them. I just don't want a dead URL messing up the directory. I guess we could leave the URL live and do a redirect but that doesn't really seem like the right thing to do.

What do you advise?

Thanks once again.

1) Make sure the old URL redirects to the new URL, returning the "permanent redirect" code.
2) Make sure the site mentions only the new URL in all links, self-description, etc.
3) file an "Update URL" request on the OLD URL, giving the NEW URL in that field on the form.

There's nothing wrong with redirecting the old URL to the new one if you're planning on keeping the old URL but just not using it for a hosted site (if you redirect the old URL, you could just skip to item (c) below). If you're actually planning on letting the old domain's registration lapse, I'd recommend that you (a) put up a notice on the "old" URL now stating that people should be using the new one, (b) remove all references to the "old" URL on the new one (e.g. the email contact is @testsforless.com), and (c) submit an update request (using the "Update URL" link at the top right of the P&O ODP category page).

Thanks a ton, that is what I will do. This board is great.

I did wonder where all my underpants went! <img src="/images/icons/wink.gif" alt="" />

Very obscure joke, but some submitters do think that their website marketing should ONLY go:
1) Submit to ODP
2) ?
3) Profit

Unfortently, that just ain't true!
