http://www.bingofantasy.com

Hi
Our marketing agency complaint to me that he tried to submit our site (http://www.bingofantasy.com) to dmoz (Games:Gambling:Bingo:Online)for long time (10 months ago) with no luck.
And he didn't receive feedback.
Can someone tell me is it normal to wait 10 months for feedback?

Thanks

Yamyam

For the "feedback": Normally you never receive feedback from the editors. That's to prevent us from being mailbombed and from discussing all day with submitters. An editor should spend his(her time editing :)

To your site: Rejected, and not likely to be accepted anywhere. See ODP-guidelines for details.

Thank you for you quick response! “ Windharp “

Can you please specify why BingoFantasy.com site has been rejected.

We have followed all the guidelines of Dmoz.org.

If you think that we missed some of the guidelines I will be appreciate it if you will specify them for me!

Follow the link provided by windharp and have a look at 'Affiliate Marketing Schemes'.

Hi, senox

BingoFantasy.com is not an affiliate site.

Bingo fantasy is licensed Bingo Site of BingoWorkz.

you can check and confirm at:
http://www.bingoworkz.com/bw_playbingo.html

you will see all the licenses of BingoWorkz Network.

I agree with everything at "Affiliate Marketing Schemes".

There is confusion here!

I think the problem here is being a partner site of bingoworkz. This can cause lots of confusion. Maybe you could clarify what being a partner of bingoworkz entails and how it is different than an affiliate site. The impression i get is that all the partner sites are just front ends for bingoworkz back end - and since the engine is the same the playing Bingo aspect is not unique content. How am I wrong here?

Yamyam,
I'll quote from the aforementioned section of ODP Guidelines: "It's not the business model we don't like. It's the mirrored and duplicated content.", and please re-read 'Affiliate Reseller Sites (aka Fraternal Mirrors)'.

Call it whatever you want, affiliate, lead generator, licensee, the content is pretty much the same, just the design changes.

ODP is looking for unique content (which I really can't find here, but I may be wrong), therefore windharp's conclusion is the only one possible in this case, sorry.

The site has been multiple submitted over a period of several months. These submissions have all been deleted. Several different editors were involved in clearing out large number of duplicate submissions. As the site simply uses Bingo Tropic, it will not be listed.

Hi, Giz

BingoFantasy.com is an online bingo site who uses BingoWorkz Software just like BingoTropic.com and there is no Connection between them.

KiwiBingo.com is a member like our on the same network
And they are listed here at Dmoz:

http://dmoz.org/Games/Gambling/Bingo/Online/

Kiwibingo.com is another license of Bingoworks like us.

You can check at this page and you will see all the licences of BingoWorkz :

http://www.bingoworkz.com/bw_playbingo.html

We all, BingoTropic.com, BingoFantasy.com, KiwiBingo.com are licenses of Bingo Network called BingoWorkz
Like Other Bingo networks.

Your fighting a losing battle with regards to being included in any of the gambling directories! From what I can see those categories haven't changed in months! Editors were provided with undeniable evidence that 90% of the sites listed aren't appropriate, yet they still remain.

Some of the editors like to say "well just because a bad site exist doesn't mean we should index another." Well I can agree with that and take it one step further - delete the bad site when its discovered. This hasn't thoroughly been done with regards to the gambling directories. Sure at one time they deleted an entire category (gambling/directories), they even removed a handful of sites in the gambling/guides category, but the job was never completed. The category is still comprised of inappropriate sites with regards to the new listing guidelines.

So as you can see - you are fighting a losing battle! Editors will list what they want they don't care if its good, bad, right, or wrong. If they want you in - you will get in! If they want you out - you will be excluded.

It's always useful, when making a claim of inappropriate sites in the ODP, to provide specific evidence of such sites. You can choose to make a list of inappropriate sites in the correct forum within resource-zone, and they will be dealt with pretty quickly. Alternatively you can email the offending sites' information to any meta, who will also deal with the sites promptly.

We are just as keen as anyone to keep inappropriate sites out of the directory. This can be difficult, and we can always do with help.

LMAO

I personally sent documentation to several metas that outlined sites in the gambling tree, which ones were inappropriate and why. Nothing was ever done! So please don’t try and pass the ball – it was in your court and you fumbled!

Yamyam,
Essentially you are saying that your site does not offer any unique content, that isn't already listed.
That is not justification for a listing.

authority,
If abuse reports are sent to the metas, they will act upon facts.

It won't always be quick.
The result will not be reported here or anywhere else.
Any actions such as deleting sites may take quite some time.

If however your posts here are an example of your typical communication perhaps
they identified your contact as being nothing more than a rant.

Yours,
ODP volunteer editor ollie1a
