We submitted our site http://www.cellular-phone-accessories-center.com a couple of times within this past year. The category we most recently submitted to is http://dmoz.org/Shopping/Consumer_Electronics/Communications/Wireless/Cellular_Phones/Accessories/C/ . We submitted about a week ago again. It had been about 6 - 8 weeks ago but had no response. I am sorry about resubmitting, I was unaware that this forum existed. I am aware that the category has no editor, but it does seem like the most appropriate category. Any help would be extremely appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Yes, we do own both sites. We use wirelessaccessorycenter.com as a staging ground for cellular-phone-accessories-center.com . We do not promote wirelessaccessorycenter.com and will not be submitting it to the directory. If there is something you would like us to do to reflect this please let us know. The only reason we do not link it back to us is that somepages are similar and we do not want to be penalized for duplicated pages. Thanks for your help and such a quick reply.

uzs980 is right. As DMOZ editors it is not our job to prevent all listings just because a webmaster builds multiple sites. Our job is to list one site per business. That said, I have absolutely no comment on the specifics in this thread. I just think it is important to remind everyone that we are not the Internet police.

Again, if you as an editor can do a search on Google and find that there are multiple sites that are very similar, it doesn't matter. What matters is when those sites are submitted to DMOZ.

Uzs980 and Cjtripnewton are right. A site should not be rejected just because there are mirrors somewhere which are not already listed in ODP. Sorry if there was a misunderstanding.

Because of all the spam that is submitted we are however suspicious if we find mirror sites, therefore the investigation and request for further information.

I don't know why exactly this submission was rejected, it is not in the unreviewed queue any more. BTW, submitting to several different categories is not helpful.

I just wanted to thank you all for your help. It is greatly appreciated. I have resubmitted my site to the same category since it was deleted from the que. Hopefully the editor will take another look. Thanks again for all of your replies.

Just so there is no confusion, I posted here before approximately 3 months ago regarding the same site. It has been about a year now and I still cannot get my site accepted into the directory. It is a great site and has a lot of good content. When we initially launched the company we launched it with the URL http://www.wirelessaccessorycenter.com but have since retired that site and it is only up for our customers that purchased from there when we first opened. We do not want to just delete the site because we do not want to worry our customers or lose them all together. The URL in question is the one we use and the one we submitted to Yahoo! PLEASE let me know if this is the problem and what I can do to fix it. I am in a very competitive category and a link in your directory is very important to us. I tried submitting http://www.cellular-phone-accessories-center.com to a new Category around FEB 1st which I beleive is:

http://dmoz.org/Shopping/Consumer_Electronics/Communications/Wireless/

The old category I submitted to is:

http://dmoz.org/Shopping/Consumer_Electronics/Communications/Wireless/Cellular_Phones/Accessories/C/

I also just tried submitting to my Local category just so you know which is:

http://dmoz.org/Regional/North_America/United_States/California/Localities/R/Rancho_Cucamonga/Business_and_Economy/

Thanks in advance for any help you can give us.
