that should probably be moved to a more appropriate category in place of this submission. But I digress!

The submission has been deleted and won't be listed in Shopping as the site is already properly listed in Business. The description you submitted clearly state:

"Grainger is a leading domestic and international business-to-business distributor. With thousands of products to choose from, we're a fast, convenient source for industrial supplies, equipment and repair parts. Please visit our online catalog today."

Was also improperly listed in Recreation/Radio/Amateur/Boatanchors/Parts/ and deleted.

"Recreation" is for "informational" listings only and should never had been listed there.

Not at all raggedyrugs, thanks for the time. Indeed, it's obvious to me that the Boatanchor Parts listing was made in error and I'm happy to see it go.

I was also not aware that being listed as a publicly traded company under business (http://dmoz.org/Business/Major_Companies/Publicly_Traded/G) basically precluded you from being having an entry elsewhere.

For the record though, the description I have for my submission being done last year was:

Domestic and international business-to-business distributor with an online storefront. Offers thousands of products covering inudstrial supplies, equipment and repair parts.

Many sites are eligible for both a topical and a regional listing. If you have a head office or other central brick-and-mortar location then you could submit to the appropriate subcategory of the Regional tree in addition to your current listing.

And some sites are listed in both Business and Shopping (e.g. http://www.amazon.com/ , http://www.staples.com/ ). I haven't looked at the Grainger site carefully, but as I understand the guidelines (though I don't edit much in Shopping/), a key to getting a Shopping branch listing is selling retail directly to the consumer -- not just wholesale to businesses. If your site offers a way to purchase products that consumers might want (not just industrial supplies) from the home, in quantities that normal consumers might buy (not just bulk lots), then it might indeed qualify for a Shopping branch listing.

However, that isn't particularly evident from a quick glance at your site -- it looks like it is aimed primarily at distribution to other companies. Can consumers purchase directly, in small quantities?

Unfortunately no; the site requires a business affliation to order online. So I can see my submission to /Shopping/Tools/ as indeed inappropriate.

But I'm still a little confused, is the www.Grainger.com appropriately respresented by only the listings in Publicly Traded and Regional for the HQ, or should I give it another shot by submitting to a more appropriate category like:

http://dmoz.org/Business/Industrial_Goods_and_Services/Industrial_Supply/
