Waiting there with a few dozen other sites.

Bump this thread in a month or so for another status, if you don't see it listed by then.

Still nothing new. That category unfortunately is a backlogged due to lack of volunteer editors' capacities in this area of the directory.

jeez...so this is why odp gets such a bad rap.

This is the largest community forum for laser hair removal on the web, with hundreds of pages in the site and over 1200 posts on the board and 250 registered users. I don't suppose they would let me be an editor since I have an interest in this category either, but our site is an established resource now.

Is it hopeless?

Actually that's not the case. If you can edit competently and without being biased towards your own interests, we'll be glad to have you, and that category is about the right size for a new editor (although I'm not a meta editor so I can't confirm that).

Have a read of our Guidelines and a look at the resources in the Becoming an Editor forum, and then fill out an editor application. Good luck.

When reviewing those guidelines, please pay particular attention to the part of the guidelines related to duplicate and mirror sites.

In the case of http://www.hairremovalforum.com you will obviously be aware that the core content on http://www.secure-practices.com/forum/ is mirrored on http://www.cosmeticenhancementsforum.com/forum/ and split into sections on http://www.hairremovalforum.com/ , http://www.botoxforum.com/ and http://www.plasticsurgerycosts.com/ . In this situation, the only site that might be eligible for listing would be the first one, http://www.secure-practices.com .

There, you've learnt something.

thanks for the lesson john ;)

it will be cleaned up...that being said though we still do have one of the top resources for this category on the internet in hairremovalforum and am surprised this would not be a site you would list. That secure-practices url is used as a message board for all three of those sites you mentioned. It was setup like this because I did want to encourage sharing and a community but absolutely did not want to put php/mysql or open source software on my server. Too many holes and exploits and we are microsoft-based anyway. The content is unique on those 3 sites they are just sharing the open source forum. I'm open for suggestions.

Generally if you've got unique content but in closely related topics - in this case cosmetic enhancement - the editor will look to find a central domain from which all the content is accessible.

Hello. I am very interested in understanding what is possible for seeing this site included in the open directory. It is a good site with a directory and forum for individuals. I have come here to learn and listen to editors that can help us to learn status. Is there anything left to do? Is there a timeframe for us to wait? First submission was a year ago.
What do you think we should do?
