I beg to differ with my esteemed colleague.

You do not need to do anything, and you should not do anything.

The site is listed in its proper locality, and since it has no global interest (unless people are really leasing charter jets to fly customers to it from Chile and Nigeria, which "I find difficult to believe, Mr Smart!") it is not eligible for listing in the global category.

As a matter of fact, looking at your site it doesn't appear to be listable in Health/Beauty/Hair/Removal/ (which would have been the proper category for a hair removal site). I don't edit Health categories, but as far as I can see your site is for a particular hair removal salon, and those are only listed in the appropriate Regional category. So I think your site is sitting in the right place :)

hutcheson and nea are correct. I did not do a review of the site. I simply looked for it in unreviewed and did not find it. I am sure that the site you mentioned in your other post will be looked at to see if it is incorrectly listed. If it is we will deal with it.

Now, just so we will not be confused - we consider you correctly listed so please do not resubmit. Once again I apologize for any misunderstanding.

Oops, I submitted again minutes after "the helper" told me too.

I would still like to know why the other site like mine gets listed in this main category? Is there another forum where i should ask about this?

A few of the current sites in that category were added a couple of years ago when there was very little information in the category. Those sites now have very little content compared with some of the current sites.

I am currently re-evaluating the sites in the category. Single FAQs from salons are unlikely to be listed in this category in the future. Regional listings are the best placement for a site like laserrn.com :monacle:

Thanks. That site that has been listed for a few years now has an unfair advantage in the search engines. It would level the playing field if that site was moved to a regional category.

Search engine placement and advantages or disadvantages therein doesn't concern us - there is no ranking of sites at dmoz.org and we are expressly forbidden to pay any attention to the ranking our sites may get on our licencees' sites. So that's not an argument for moving the other site.

We do, however, try to make an effort to put sites where they fit best according to the category guidelines. That is an argument for moving it. :)

No problem. Thank you for bringing a quality problem to our attention.

>That site that has been listed for a few years now has an unfair advantage in the search engines.

Advantage, yes. Unfair? I dunno. The early bird gets the worm; the second mouse gets the cheese, and all the rest, um, get less. That's a universal law which the internet can't repeal -- just like "get your orders in before the Christmas rush."

Of course, we don't have to know whether it's fair or not. We only categorize (and re-categorize) websites.
