Please can you give me an update on the status of http://www.littletrekkers.co.uk submitted to the http://dmoz.org/Shopping/Clothing/Outerwear/Baby/ category?

I have tried emailing the editor of this category but have had no feedback.

Your site is still awaiting review in the above category with less than a dozen other sites. Editors normally avoid direct email contact with submitters as experience has taught us that some submitters can "turn nasty". Mail bombs, a huge increase in UCE/spam, subscriptions to porn mailing lists etc etc have been known to happen.

Also, your site is awaiting review in Regional/Europe/United_Kingdom/Business_and_Economy/Shopping/Clothing/Childrenswear with one other site.

OK, thanks for the quick update! I see your point about the email spamming. Is there any way I can find out if the editor is actively reviewing submissions?

I can tell you that the editor is an active editor (ie they have logged onto their editor dashboard within the last 3months - in fact, the editor in question logged in less than 3 days ago) and that the category is reasonably well maintained. However, we always need new editors (even if it's not in the same area of the ODP: it may free up a 'more senior' editor to give a hand in that category). Have you thought of applying?

If your site hasn't been reviewed within a month, feel free to come back to this thread (bookmark it, or search for it: DO NOT start a new thread about the same site) and get a status update.

OK, that's encouraging I'll try and be patient <img src="/images/icons/smile.gif" alt="" /> . In answer to your question I have thought about getting involved in the ODP project and may well apply to become an editor in the near future. I'll have a browse and see what I can offer.

Just a heads up: there are over 6000 unreviewed in Shop/Clothing as a whole right now, so it may be awhile.

On the other hand there are only 10 sites waiting in Shopping/Clothing/Outerwear/Baby. It has a listed editor, kimsub, but he or she works on a lot of large categories and could maybe use some help. Categories can have two listed editors. <img src="/images/icons/wink.gif" alt="" />
