Hi there, tried to submit my site today: http://www.loansecured.net into the http://dmoz.org/Regional/Europe/United_Kingdom/Business_and_Economy/Financial_Services/ category.

Could you tell me if its in the queue or not please. Submitted 28 Oct, approx 10:15 GMT.

Had "Sending request to DMOZ.org…" in my browser then it timed out, ending with "The Document contains not data". I'm using Mozilla 1.0.1 but cant imagine thats the problem.

Your site is not in the queue for that category. I don't think it's a browser problem, since I use Mozilla 1.1 and have no real problems, but usually if it says 'The document contains no data' clicking Reload or resubmitting the form will solve the problem.

If you do resubmit, would you mind choosing a more specific subcategory? While I appreciate that the Financial Services category has an editor and some of its subcategories do not, you should always submit to the most specific category.

This Link shows the results for where my site should be. But the top link for loans doesnt work. So what should I do, any ideas?

I could put it in Top: Business: Financial Services: Loans, instead of Regional: Europe: United Kingdom: Business and Economy: Financial Services: Loans but that category isnt very narrow.

The search database is quite out of date at the moment (it should be working properly again the next week or two - fingers crossed). The ...Loans category you referenced has been disbanded (ie deleted and the sites moved elsewhere). I think the best category for your submission would be: ...UK/Business_and_Economy/Financial_Services/Personal_Finance/Loans/L/ .

How did I find that category?

When I tried to access "Regional: Europe: United Kingdom: Business and Economy: Financial Services: Loans" I got a 404 error which suggested Regional/Europe/United_Kingdom/Business_and_Economy/Financial_Services/ as a possible category. I went there and just clicked on 'Personal Finance' (since your site is aimed to consumers and not businesses: well, at least a quick glance told me that), clicked on 'Loans' and then the first letter of your site name (as that category has been broken down to an alphabar as there are a large number of sites for that subject and no other way of classifying them apart from by 'company/site name'.

Ah yes, the UK Financial Services category is subject to a major overhaul at the moment, with some categories being moved, renamed or simply disbanded.
