Please submit only to the one most specific category the site fits in - thats stated in the text you see when adding an URL (which of course noone reads, I know <img src="/images/icons/wink.gif" alt="" /> )

Your URL has not been processed in any of those categories, neither is it in the queue. Maybe when submitting you received the message that your site was put to a temporary storage area becuase your IP could not be determined, then it will take some time since those entries are presorted by hand. So if you received that message you can resubmit from another machine - preferably not behind a firewall or proxy. If you didnt see such a note and you are sure you got the category right, you maybe would have to resubmit. But I dont know how that should have happened, no "submission not received" bugs are currently known...

Anyway: All editors of higher-up categories and a lot of editors who can edit the whole directory still serve those categories.

Thankyou Windharp.. I will submit again to the first category mentioned as that seems most related. I am hoping i didnt make a mistake with the category that i initially submitted to, as my memory is not so good these days and it was a fair while ago.

But from info i have picked up here, the next step is just to submit again. Thanks.

Hello, I was wondering whether there is any update on this site, or what the likelihood is of this small category being visited by an editor.

Thanks!

Many thanks catmv. Yes i think you are right! I did spend an hour or so checking for the right categories but this cat and subs escaped me. Now, I know i should not submit to more than one cat. Should I just resubmit to the new cat? There is no way to delete and old submission i would guess.

After your suggestion I was going to submit to the Business: Management: Education and Training category as the sub categories dont seem to fit the site.

The site is actually designed for educational managers and schools and training institutes, not students themselves. On second thoughts, I'm not sure what would be the best cat. Maybe the Educators cat at http://dmoz.org/Reference/Education/Educators/Higher_Education/ I submitted to already is the best one after all?

Hi all,

I'm a bit confused now on what category ive submitted to over the course of this discussion even though I KNOW I originally may have submitted to a wrong category (thanks catmv) I havent had a reply to my previous message yet and think i cam still in a queue for http://dmoz.org/Reference/Education/Educators/Higher_Education/

As its more than a month since my last query, I thought it might be acceptable now to enquire how the site submission request is going.

Thank you.

Your submission from 21/Dec/2002 19:49:44 MST is still waiting in http://dmoz.org/Reference/Education/Educators/Higher_Education/. Personally I think that uzs980's suggestion was right on, and this isn't the right category...but it isn't my area of expertise, so I am assuming this is what you meant to check on. Above you said you were going to submit to that cat...so it appears you didn't. Worst case scenerio, the editor who does view it will move it to a more appropriate cat and you will then again wait for the site to be reviewed again. As for this queue, there is no change.

Thanks very much Kokopeli. I did a lot of looking at different cats and the main reason i didnt move it was that the site is targeted at professors and lecturers, university administrators and college management and not at students. The content involves things like teaching techniques like action learning, networking with other related business schools and issues relating to educational accreditation. The cat you and uzs980's suggested seems to be directed to students mainly, so I thought it would be better in the "educators" cat or one of the sub cats under it. I thought best to wait and see if the category editor, who I am sure is much better at the subject area than me, decides to approve or move. I guess at the moment its 1 for leaving it where it is and 2 against! IId wait another month and see how it goes, and then try for the cat you guys suggest! Thanks again
