I submitted my web site a few days before July 4th and it's still not up. I had already submitted it well over a month before that and it didn't make it to the ODP then either. So this was a resubmit. This last time I might have accidently submitted it twice within a few seconds and I am hoping it didn't get deleted for that. Just wondering what's up with it. I submitted it to the category http://dmoz.org/Computers/Internet/Web_Design_and_Development/Hosting/M/

Sorry, I am not a editor and not able to check it out for you. But the chance of having your site up in ODP in a month is zero
There are just way too many hosting/web design sites submited to ODP and waiting for review.

You had actually submitted the bare domain name, not the deeplink mentioned here. [we prefer the way you did it, not the way you asked about it]

Our current practice is, if a site offers web development and other related services (as this one does) to only list it [once] under "Developers". So I've given it (and a few other similarly misplaced submittals) a kick in the right direction. Ask about it (in this same thread, in a few months) somewhere around http://editors.dmoz.org:8080/Computers/Internet/Web_Design_and_Development/Designers/

The bad news is that all these categories are heavily backlogged.

2. Your chances actually depend on the letter of the alphabet. I can generally get sites [for a certain letter] up in a day if there are no issues to be looked at. But in general many of the letters have very large backlogs. [But don't try and figure out which letter, and change the company name :D]

Thanks for the help. I was just paranoid that it had been removed from consideration for being submitted twice within a minute. Everything's okay now.

Creator, you could submit 2 or 200 times in a minute to the same category, and (theoretically) the last one would overwrite all the prior ones, so the editor would only see one submittal.

We don't want to encourage the practice, but a few accidental duplicate submittals (particulary if done in a short time span) aren't going to disturb anyone.
