Don't worry about the broken link above, it's a known problem, this bulletin board can't cope with URLs that have commas in them. Thanks for at least trying.

Your site is the only thing waiting for review in that category, so it will be reviewed as soon as an editor gets time to work in there.

Thank you, dfy, for the prompt reply. I notice, there is no editor assigned to this category or even to a higher level category. I understand senior editors have green busting permissions. Would it be a good idea to request a senior editor from some unrelated category to look into this?

Editors with editall or meta status can edit anywhere in the directory. A "green buster" is an editor that has special permission to work in a specific category, but their work must be approved by another editor before it gets published.

You can always send a request to a senior editor, but they all have plenty of work to do, and I cannot guarantee that you would even receive a reply, much less a review.

I see. I notice you're an editor with editall status.
May I request you to spare some of your time and review my site.

I'm afraid not. It sounds like a poor excuse, but I'm going on holiday tomorrow and I need to pack before it gets too late.

If I weren't going on holiday I would still have to decline your request. I simply don't know enough about that area to fully evaluate a site. I would leave that task to a local editor that has more knowledge than me.

Please read this forum's guidelines where it states: "Please note that posting in this forum will not lead to site listing in itself."

Your site will be reviewed when it's reviewed - and not before then. This forum is NOT for "speeding up" reviewing of any sites (as we've got many many hundreds of other sites to review as well, as it'll be 'wrong' for us just to favour and 'express review' sites whose webmasters are just over eager to be lsited). The only possible scenerio that I can see that an editor speeds up listing is under "time critical categories" (for example the News categories) - but since those categories usually have dedicated editors which hunt out relevant sites, you probably will have no need to post here anyway. Oh - if you are thinking of submitting your site to one of those categories to 'speed up its listing' - don't. It won't help and could give your site the appearence of a spammer: and hence you will never be listed...

Just have patience...If your site isn't reviewed in a months time, come back and ask for a status update (which will be 'accepted on XXX', 'rejected for listing' or 'still awaiting editor review').

Beebware, if there are one or two sites in the queue it doesn't hurt to review the site. The rules you quoted above apply to large categories with large unreviewed queues - and even then editors should make exceptions when the site has been waiting a long time or even if the editor feels like it.

The point of the rule is so that there is no expectation on the part of the poster that asking about his/her site will lead to a quicker listing.

In any case, getting back to the site in question, since your site is primarily a publicity page for your book/ebook/play I've moved it to Shopping/Publications/Books/Fiction/Specific_Titles/ where it is the only site awaiting review. I would review it myself, but there are some specific guidelines that apply to that category, and being unfamiliar with practices in the Shopping/ tree, I decided to leave it to more experienced hands. In any case, the category is actively edited so it shouldn't be too long a wait.

Thank you Apeuro. I really appreciate your input and effort. Editors like you make the ODP the invaluable resource it is.
