Thanks for your quick reply. I understand it may take a while for a listing in some categories, but a year and 3 months seems excessively long to me. Is this normal for a shopping category?
Your site shows as having been submitted on 2nd December 2002, and a month isn't very long to wait. I'm guessing that you've been re-submitting your site at regular intervals. Each new submission overwrites the old one, making it look like your site hasn't been in the queue for long. Many editors sort the unreviewed queues by date (that's the default setting) so if you've been re-submitting your site regularly, you've just been moving it to the bottom of the queue each time.
Thanks again for the quick reply. Indeed I have been resubmitting- about every 2-3 months recently, as I was under the impression that this was necessary. Since I had no idea what was happening with my submission, I (wrongfully) thought I should resubmit.
Thank you for telling me about the processes ed's use to review sites. From now on, I'll submit once and wait patiently.
>I was under the impression that this was necessary.
No accounting for impressions. (But this was good technique back in the AltaVista days....and a lot of advice-givers haven't bothered to keep up with the world, so it's easy to get bad advice out there.)
Still awaiting review with over 250 others in that category.
>>Have I moved up the list at all?<<
Unfortunately, that's an impossible question to answer. Editors may sort unreviewed sites in several ways, and they may choose to edit them in any order they wish. As a result, "moving up" is a meaningless concept. All any of us can say is that your site is waiting, and it will be reviewed when a volunteer editor finds the time.
Incidentally, it appears that you have a brick-and-mortar retail location in Santa Fe. If so, you might want to submit your site to:
There is no backlog in that category at all, so you may be listed more quickly. A listing in the Santa Fe Regional/ branch category should be completely independent of your original submission, and should not affect its status in any way.
