Interesting, I just looked at your site and knew I'd reviewed it before. Yet I find no editor has touched it. But I was positive I had, so I did some digging. Turns out mem mory did not fail me.

Back in June 2003, I looked at a site that was submitted to Arts/Visual_Arts/Education/Workshops_and_Tours

That site http://www.thefinishingschool.com/ is now listed in http://dmoz.org/Arts/Crafts/Woodcraft/Furniture/Refinishing/ - although back in 2000 it was in Arts/Visual_Arts/Education/Art_Instruction/Workshops

So there is some question in my mind whether both sites can be listed.

Thanks for the quick reply. The site you mention belongs to the New york business. Although we are affiliated to that business by name, the atlanta business is a separate entity. I built the site and as you can see the content is entirely unique to the atlanta business who hired me to build it. Each of the 50 plus pages have unique content. Please let me know if you require any additional questions answering.

Nevertheless, the way we generally view URLs that have some relation like this is that the that if some part of the content has a differnt URL does not mean it's a different site. It may be viewed as one big site, which is spread over two URLs.

I realize that many site owners have difficulty with this concept, but that's our way of looking at it. It's possible that when actually reviewed in detail [which I did not do], an editor may decide otherwise, but my personal point of view, is that if, when I looked at your site today, it immediately made me think I've seen it before, it indicates that there must be an overlap in content between the sites.

In addition the two URLs are intertwined - in a way which we see additional evidence they are in fact one site.

For example http://www.thefinishingschool.com/support.html says

By Clicking on the following link, you will be brought to The Finishing School's new technical support forum hosted by our Atlanta location.

and links to "your" site

And your site links back to the other locations.

[Even if you took those links off, it would make now difference at this point in time]

Again, thanks for the reply. Should i assume from your answer that this site will never be listed? Or do I await a decison following a "detailed review"?

Good assumption. Still only an assumption, though.

What other companies do (you do what you wish) is to make sure that both sites are clearly and easily reachable from the main site, that way when you open a new center in Topeka, or Fresno, you have a structure in place to move intersted customers to the most appropriate sub-site.
