Please let me know the status of http://www.TheTowingCentre.com, submitted to
1. http://dmoz.org/Shopping/Vehicles/Parts_and_Accessories/Trailers/

I'm a newbie to all this and I submitted my site some time ago (3-4 months) to DMOZ but still have not been listed. I'm not sure if I did it correctly and would very much appreciate some advice on the status of my submission.

I think that this forum is a brilliant idea !

The submission has been received and is awaiting review. If you don't see it listed sometime in the next six months, please feel free to return for a status update on or after 23 January.

Hi,

I was just wondering why my previous submission to DMOZ was not registered (or was it?). I registered www.TheTowingCentre.com around May time and I have been deperately trying to get the site registered as it is a seasonal site and if I cannot get it registered soon then I won't make any sales till next year.

I probably did it incorrectly or it was rejected or something ... I don't know ! I think the forum is a great idea and now I hope to be registered, but I would still like to know if you have any ideas how I can ensure that this is not a problem in the future.

Am I right in asssuming that the reply post is a default auto response reply to my original post ?

No, it was written by a real human editor who looked up the category you submitted to and checked that your site was waiting there. That it is waiting for review means that you haven't been rejected for listing, and there is no reason to think you did anything wrong. We can't predict even roughly when your site will be reviewed. Please do not rely on a DMOZ listing for your sales - there are many directories on the web where you can submit and get listed without having to wait for an editor to review it!

You may submit your site to http://dmoz.org/Regional/Europe/United_Kingdom/Wales/Swansea/Business_and_Economy/Motoring/ as well - the two submissions will be independently reviewed and you may end up listed in both categories.

As Don said, you are eligible for another status report in January, if you haven't seen the site listed before then. Thanks!
