I submitted our site on September 10, 2002 to this directory: "http://dmoz.org/Recreation/Travel/Preparation/Health/"

But it was moved to:
"http://dmoz.org/Health/Services/" because it is more "services oriented". I would just like to know if it has been archived, or if I should submit again.

Thanks a lot guys. I really appreciate it!

(please leave spaces between URL paths and quote marks - that way this forum software can automatically convert the URL to a clickable format)

Your site has been moved to http://dmoz.org/Health/Services/ for another editor to review. There is no need to resubmit as an editor will review your site in due course. It may be a case that once your site is reviewed (there are only around a dozen other sites in that category awaiting review) it may be accepted into one of the subcategories of Health/Services/ (if it is deemed your site isn't quite broad enough for 'top-level Health/Services').

If, in a months time you cannot see your site in Health/Services or in the ODP search system (which will be up-to-date by then: fingers crossed), then feel free to post again IN THIS THREAD and we'll try and update you on the status of your site. DO NOT start a new thread for this site.

Your site is still awaiting review in that category with less than a dozen other sites [correction: now less than half-a-dozen other sites]

I'm currently trying to work my way through that unreviewed queue and move the sites to appropriate areas to speed up the review process, but unfortently, since your site instantly redirects to a secure site (HTTPS) I'm unable to review it at this point. Hopefully another editor will be along at somepoint to review your site.

Sorry for the delay, but again, if you haven't heard anything about your site in a month's time - feel free to head back here.

Not just to get the root listing, but I think that our listing would be more relevant in Health/Services because we offer more that just Electronic Medical Records... we also offer online appointment scheduling, personalized travel recommendations and vaccination history management.

The medical record services directory would put us in a niche that would limit our services exposure. Do you agree?

Thanks for the quick feedback

>we also offer online appointment scheduling
This is "records" whether or not it's medical.

>...personalized travel recommendations
This isn't medical at all, and can hardly be an argument for ANY kind of placement under "Medicine"

>... and vaccination history management.
Um, I'd think that would DEFINITELY be a "medical record."

>The medical record services directory would put us in a niche that would limit our services exposure. Do you agree?

Absolutely, yes. That is EXACTLY the point of having subcategories. They completely hide the site, except to people who are interested in its particular focus.

In a case like this, with everything fitting, say, "Medical Records" except for some outliers that don't fit "Medical" at all, we have two options: 1) list once in Medical Records, and mention the non-medical services, or 2) for a site with "doubly significant outliers" (that is, significant in both senses of the word), we'd consider a second listing in some non-Medical category. For some types of site, option 2 is specifically prohibited; there may be some for which it's specifically encouraged. This doesn't fit either type, so editor judgment is called for. I don't think option 2 is applicable here.

The appointments that we offer are actually face to face consultations with family physicians, and vaccination appointments. This is a service that is much different that medical records.

The personalized travel recommeations are in fact medical related. The recommedations that are given are are based on your medical record as well as your travel destinations.

I agree that Vaccination management is considered as a medical record... sorry about that.

Within a few months, we will be integrating a ressource section concerning healthy travel for businesses, women, HIV positive travellers etc...

We are also developing a service in which travellers can ask questions in realtime to experienced physicians for a fee.

As you can see, we do offer more than one service, but if you would like to put us in "Medical Records" that is fine... you are the boss! <img src="/images/icons/smile.gif" alt="" />

thanks again for the quick replies!

When you get the new services up and running, request an "Update URL" to the site, with a description mentioning them, and a note to the editor [in brackets like these at the end of the description will work] suggesting a category move.

Why then rather than now? You'll have a stronger case then (with more "other" services, or at least "more obviously other" services), and the case will look better if it hasn't already been turned down (as it might be now).

Sorry to bother you guys again, but our site has still not been added. Can you let me know where we are at when you get the chance.

Thanks a lot! I appreciate it.

You're still in the queue of Health/Services with a few other sites. Eventually someone will review your site, but it's not possible to say when.

Hi. As your content is essentially specific to Canada (e.g. appointment scheduling in Canada only) and most of your services are available only on subscription, I have moved you to unreviewed in Regional/North_America/Canada/Health/ . The site should be eligible for listing in that specific category. There are no dedicated editors for that category but plenty for the next category up the tree, so hopefully you shouldn't be waiting for that much longer.
