I have paid some marketing company to get me listed in all the search engines but im not sure if he has done his job properly as i can't find a listing in Dmoz. He told me he has submitted us to over 17 different categories.
Is there any way you can check the status for me please.

Many thanks for your time.

To be honest you have wasted your money. This clearly was a person who did not know what good website marketing means. If he realy suggested your site to 17 categories he has been spamming DMOZ, this could have lead to a ban on your site.
And from our internal information system I can see it has already been deleted from 4 categories as being spam.
But this is not the only reason why the site won't be listed. Which other sites do you own?

And what about http://www.kitchens-fitted-uk.co.uk/.

I see a lot of strange things with these websites. It looks as if some and maybe all are owned by the same company Webstream, although you talk about "customers". None of them has real contact and about information (I as a customer would never buy anything from a comapny that doesn't give me real life information like address and telephonenumber).
Another strange thing. You are a websdesign and optimalisation company but you hired another company to do the worst marketing thinkable for you.
I hear a lot of alarmbells ringing. Maybe an other editor will look at these sites and see if there is anything you can do for a better reputation.

WEBstream Limited is our company and the other websites are ours or ones we have put together for customers (like the kitchen site).
We have contact information on all five of our sites and in the case of babaruha the phone number is on the home page.
The reason a third party was doing the search engine thing is because we can quite happily optimise a site but do not have the ability to get it quickly listed in search engines (we subcontract searchengine submissions).
Could you tell me the steps i need to take to list uk-car-accessories.co.uk as we feel it is a very informative and userfriendly website for the car modding fans. It has detailed contact information inc. address, telephone number and email under side link "contact us".
We have spent over a year and a half getting it to the excellent condition it is in now.

Many thanks PVGOOL.

I can't find any evidence of listing suggestions for http://www.uk-car-accessories.co.uk from a third party marketing company, let alone 17. I think you should name them so that others here will know who to avoid. At the very least you should ask for your money back.
Is there any way you can check the status for me please.
No information is available right now. You might like to ask again in a month.

Thanks very much for your reply.

I will name and shame if i don't get my money back.

I am not sure how many times the site www.uk-car-accessories.co.uk has been listed based on what you said. If it is infact the case that none of our sites have been listed then please let me know so i can list them myself once and once only, in the right place.

If you have any suggestions to what the right place should be that would be very helpful.

Thanks again

Ben

I've finished digging now and I've seen enough. Please reread our submission guidelines which you (or your agent) acknowledged you'd read and agreed every time you made a listing suggestion.

They forbid suggesting related websites and describe the penalties which can be applied if the requirement is ignored.

We have nothing more to add to that.

What did you mean by the above title seriously incomplete. This isn't making any sense to me at all.

Also what did you mean by "I've finished digging now and I've seen enough."

Which related web sites are you talking about Jim.

If there are any conflicting sites then we will gladly have them taken out. All we want is to have www.webstream.ltd.uk and www.uk-car-accessories.co.uk in the directory.

From the add.html page
We may reject, delete, or edit submissions that violate these policies or that we otherwise believe, in our sole discretion, should not be included in the directory. We may also reject, delete, or block other sites that we believe to be associated with a user who has violated these policies.
I'm afraid there is nothing you can do anymore.

I don't get what we have done in the first place. Please can you tell me in simple form exactly what you think we have done.

Many thanks

You, or some other person you hired, have violated our guidelines in such a way that your company and all sites it is involved in are banned.

Let me clarify.
  • You own multiple car accessory websites. (I doubt if you need a reminder of them from us, even though you chose not to reveal all of them in your earlier post.)
  • You have suggested that we list more than one of them.
  • We're unhappy that you did so because it is against our guidelines.
  • There has been other disinformation within this thread.
What it adds up to is that when we believe somebody is trying to manipulate us, we resist.

There's an old Sussex saying We wunt be druv and it applies here also.

I promise in no way have we tried to manipulate or steer the opd in any direction. If that is the impression you got then i am sorry. Jim how can i make things right between us.

Maxstyling no longer exhists and has been renamed to turbomods. We thought that turbomods was not included.

We also had other sites:
gear-knobs.co.uk
car-lights.co.uk
car-racing seats.co.uk

These were all breakdowns of the main site for particular car accessories but we never included them in the directory.
