I admit a common innocent mistake being done in suggesting a site

I suggested our two companies' websites (as seen in my profile) to DMOZ. They both dealt with various products streams and have different categories in DMOZ to cater the same. Hence I had suggested both of them to few different appropriate categories. Another reason for doing the same was their categories' vast varying "Last update" dates.

Then I happen to see some posts in this forum to find the editor's comments that we only need to submit our site only once in one most appropriate category.

I therefore regret for the same and request the concerned to either kindly remove the extra suggestions (may be other than first or last ones) or to ignore all additional suggestions while considering our each unique URL for review.

I would not be repeating the same in future.

Thanks in advance.

That's absolutely correct. It says so in our T&Cs that you read (didn't you?) and agreed on each occasion.

However, we aren't about to divert editorial effort into hunting down all of your listing suggestions, effectively giving them priority. We'll just process them as we stumble across them as we do for all. That could take time.

Do not suggest either of your websites again.

Yes, I read it but simultaneously when I searched for our company name i.e. "Worldwide Technologies" then, I found a similar name company listed in three different categories which prompted me to suggest in applicable categories.

It may be the possibility that this company had got them listed before addition / revision of rules which I was not aware.

Do not suggest either of your websites again.

As said earlier, I would not be repeating the same in future because I also learned here in the forums the following i.e.

"People here have computers and they also know about how to use them."

There are a few reasons why a website can be listed more than once.

Most important to remember is that an editor can decide to list a website as many times as he seems appropriate. Ofcourse the editor must follow the guidelines, so he can not make such listings just because he thinks it is right.

Common reasons for multiple listings
1. the website has content in more than one language, it can be listed in each of those languages
2. the website has both a topical and a regional relevance, it can be listed both uner the topic and in the town it is located in

In such cases the website may even be suggested more than once.

Suggesting a website to more than one category in Regional is a big No-No
Suggesting a website to more than one topical category is also a big No-No

Don't worry about the suggestions you made. We recognise mistakes from spam. No harm will be done with mistakes.
