I am a ODP editor and was looking forward to the 2.0 upgrade. After the upgrade I signed in and got a reply that said:

Welcome to DMOZ 2.0! As part of the new DMOZ we’ve upgraded the sign in process and require all users to provide a new password.
# This new password should contain: A minimum of eight (8) characters and maximum of 16 characters,
# At least one (1) letter, and
# At least one (1) non-letter character (this can be a numeral or any ASCII special character).

Please note: All DMOZ 2.0 passwords are case-sensitive.
These new password requirements will help to ensure that all users have strong passwords.
Additionally, DMOZ 2.0 passwords will be encrypted for greater security.
A message containing a link to verify your account has been sent to the email address we have on file for you – <mail removed>.
Please click on that link to set up your new password.
If you do not receive the verification message within the next 10 minutes please click here to resend.
