I pressed submit but nothing happened.

I was trying to add my site to a cat (Business/Marketing_and_Advertising/Internet_Marketing/Marketing_Services) and I pressed submit - nothing happened. At this point I pressed the submit button a second time (sorry). It didn't get an error message and the page stayed the same. Should I submit again or has the submission request gone?

Any advice would be great.

oh, hang on - while I was writing this post I got this message:

I've been getting the same thing for ages. I've been told to submit relentlessly in the middle of the night until I break through as the problem is due to traffic, not a broken script.

I'm still trying... dmoz is too important to give up on!

I'd suggest you both give up trying for a while. The public side of dmoz (where the "submit" button is) is currently only vaguely connected to the editor side (where the submit script is). It will stay that way until we get the editor side machine upgraded, which will take a while. The current prediction is that we'll have the two systems connected together again some time after 20th July, but that plan has already slipped once, and it could easily slip again.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. On the positive side, the whole system will be a lot faster and more reliable once all the changes have been made. <img src="/images/icons/smile.gif" alt="" />

thanks dfy.

Will you be posting here when it's up and running?

There will be a thread in the Announcements forum. We've told so many people to wait for the upgrades that we couldn't possibly keep track of all the relevant threads. <img src="/images/icons/smile.gif" alt="" />
