I submitted two of my sites to DMOZ over 8 months ago. I submitted my fitness site:
<url removed>

and my travel site:
<url removed>

and they still do not appear at DMOZ.

I have decided I want to submit the fitness site to this category:
Top: Sports: Strength Sports: Training

So I submitted it this morning.

I am having trouble with my travel site because it is about my travels as well as my love for cars, VW's in particular. Can someone look at Blues Travels and help me decide where it needs to be submitted?

Thanks

Instead of repeating the same answers that are already in the FAQ, I'll just direct you there - if you have other questions when you've read it, you are welcome to ask them, but you should be aware that we don't discuss specific sites and their listing status. Thanks!

Wow

Instead of reply to your non-reply, I will direct you to what I think of the editors at DMOZ.

http://www.resource-zone.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=42854

I read your FAQ and I think that DMOZ is a poorly managed service, staffed by lazy people who really should just sit at home, have babies and collect welfare checks.

You really did not need to reply to my post with this non-reply. I am sorry you wasted any energy. I am sorry you wasted mine.

I need some help from NON-DMOZ members

Since I find DMOZ editors to be useless, and since I am definately not on their short list of folks to help, I would like to enlist the help of folks just like me: site submitters.

I have a site called <url removed>

It's a site about Cars, VW's and my travel adventures as well as musings about various issues.

Trouble is, I have no idea what category to submit it to.

Would anyone care to give me some suggestions on which category I should submit it to so that my site could be rejected or ignored by the DMOZ staffers in the correct category?

Heheheh

Thanks.

What's so hard to understand about Forum for discussions about the process of suggesting a site for inclusion. General discussion only, no mention of specific sites here please?

Exactly what service do you think is being poorly managed? You see what you fail (or refuse) to understand is that the service that dmoz provides (the service that is described in all the places you were directed to, but apparently wasn't important enough to you to absorb) is exactly not the service you want it to provide.
Editors do not list sites for the benefit of the site owners. dmoz.org is not a listing service (that is another thing that should be fairly obvious to anyone who reads any of these repeated threads) and all editors are volunteers working on things that interest them. The only 'staff' is employed by AOL and are responsible for the technical workings for the most part and are not the editors doing most of the directory building. I can't speak for anyone else, but I always love when I see the seriously misinformed posters (such as yourself) who find it necessary to spew allegations and misguided attacks on the characters of a few thousand volunteers who in their spare time choose to try and build a useful resource that everyone else can use.
If I wanted someone to be interested in the same things as I was, I don't think I would attack, insult, and degrade them in the hopes of persuading them to take interest.

This you actually did get partially right. We should not have had to reply to this post, because the answers to the questions asked have been provided in the FAQ (just like was said in the original reply) and in many, many previous threads on exactly the same topic.

It doesn't seem as though this thread is going anywhere useful. Closing.
