I think this is a bug?

Dear DMOZ Team:

The strangest thing happened today. I searched DMOZ for my website, which has been listed on the DMOZ directory for 1+ years. I am referring to Medical Assistant Net at http://www.medicalassistant.net.

Naturally, I used search term: "medicalassistant.net" and DMOZ delivered the result (1 match). But when I went checked the directory, which I was directed to, DMOZ=> Health: Professions: Medical Assistant, there are (now) only 10 web sites listed (last time there were 15), and Medicalassistant.net is NO LONGER among them on that page. That is confusing, and makes me think that it must be a bug? Can your tech team members check this and provide a quick response? (Way below is a copy of the DMOZ Search Result!)

Should I resubmit the medicalassistant.net web site to your volunteers to be relisted?

Thanks for your services and time.
Danni R.

That's interesting, because that's not what I see. I see 10 listings
http://dmoz.org/Health/Professions/Medical_Assistant/ and no Medicalassistant.net.

Hmmmm...
Could it be regional? I am in Massachusetts, USA.

Based on another post, I think we have some servers out of sync. So it may depend on which server you get the results from, which is random.

That, of course, would explain it. Thank you for taking the time to investigate and respond. I wouldn't have made it an issue, if it weren't for the fact that this Medical Assistant web site is such a useful, one of a kind site, and not having it here would definitely be a disservice to the general public as well as to the profession! So, thanks. I will keep an eye on it and keep you posted.

I am getting pages that are over a year out of date, some on categories that have been frequently updated.

I first noticed it happening yesterday on one category that I had checked for broken links, this morning it has happened on 2 others, pages dated June and July 2003 are being delivered, shift/reload will fix it.

It seems that one or more of the servers is using an archive copy.

I made a note for our technical staff to investigate.

Thanks Windharp,

Do the same servers also provide the data for sites using directory information?

:2cents: Well, Ukros, the way I first noticed it was that a healthcareer website that uses DMOZ for their website's links page directory was missing the MedicalAssistant.net link. So, in that case they must have been using a server that is "wacked." I guess that's one way to say it.
