Earlier today I emailed <editor name removed>, a DMOZ music editor with a simple question

<e-mail about site suggestion removed>

<editor name removed> emailed me back advising me to ask the question on the Forum. Now I'm told that question is against the rules. If editors don't know the rules how is anybody else expected to know them ? If you can't be bothered to give a plausible reason (other than a blanket reply) for erasing somebody's straight forward question you could at least teach your editors to stop wasting peoples time by giving wrong advice.

Regards Rol

One could perhaps be forgiven for presuming that you would read the FAQs before posting. Had you done so, you would have wasted less of your time in posting inappropriate posts and less of ours in moderating your inappropriate posts.

Your organization resembles a secret society of spaced out boffins

ONE SIMPLE LITTLE QUESTION AND SOOOOOO MUCH FUSS.
I am so very very sorry that I didn't study your great precious RULE BOOK IN DETAIL before following the advice given by one of your experienced editors. - I JUST APPLIED A LITTLE BIT OF COMMON SENSE, WHICH YOU HAVE THE AUDACITY TO CLAIM I DO NOT POSSESS. In the real world nobody- repeat nobody - has enough time to read every FAQ page, user agreement - rule book or small print before using a service that is available. If you and your fellow moderator boffins have the time to read millions of pages of small print you can't possibly have any time left over to do anything positive with your life. Other people do - hence they do NOT always read everything there is to read. That makes them easy targets for your unbelievably narrow minded censorship. If you had your way you would shoot half of us dead for inadvertantly mentioning a URL or an editor's name.
WHY ARE YOU SO OBSESSED WITH THE URGE OF HAVING TO IMMEDIATELY REMOVE EVERY TRACE OF ANY NAME FROM ANY POST IN ANY FORUM ? You come across like an ULTRA PARANOID BRIGADE OF OVER ZEALOUS WEB SHERRIFS. ARE YOU AFRAID OF THE BIG BAD WOLF ?

I'm curious about the two year gap between my reply of 19th June 2005 and today's apparent continuation of the conversation.

Be aware that this forum is unofficial, that few editors ever come here and even fewer are aware of its TOS. I wouldn't be at all surprised if most of them have never heard of it at all.

I only bothered to read the first line of your rant by the way. I do hope you didn't spend a lot of time writing the rest of it.

All 7,000 editors did, :D, and we're not a service, where did you get that idea?
