If You are Having Problems Accessing the Site

My ISP has a problem with one the routers. If you are having timeouts on page loads then you are more than likely affected by this.

It seems to be affecting anyone that connects from the west coast of the U.S. and most that access from other countries.
This is out of my control. I have contacted the ISP and they assure me they are working on the problem.

Sorry about any inconvenience.

So *that's* what's happening. All this time I've been blaming my partner's crappy Windows machine (which runs our shared connection) and it wasn't that at all. Oh well, I'll just have to find some other reason to slate MicroSoft.

I'm in Texas and keep having connection errors Eventually I get through.

Accessing from the UK, I have had no problems at all in the last week or more.

I've had problems connecting for a couple of weeks now (i'm in so. california).

This was fixed. If you have any connection problems now it more than likely due to normal slowdowns of the internet.

I've tried "editor logon" repeatedly and daily for about a week, but I only come up with a "time out" connection error.

What should I do?

Thanks Bob.

Hmmm ... it is most puzzling. Particularly as I'm not having "speed" issues anywhere other than the login section.

I'll keep plugging away.

I've also been having trouble getting in via the dmoz.org "editor login" lately, but if you go straight to

http://dmoz.org:8080/editors/

you can bypass the slow public side, and get to the swift editor side.

tlewis, vbman was talking about connection problems to this site, not editor logon at dmoz.org.

Thanks motsa.

But as I am unable to access fora at dmoz (because I can't logon ), I was trying to find a suitable thread here to pose my question.

No luck again today BWT.

There's a thread with just that subject in the Editors Lounge forum here. Try posting there.
