Is category correct for submission success?

Good day. I was inclinded to use other categories when submitting the site for http://www.riveredgerestorations.com , however I chose what I believe to be the most appropriate subcategory so my request is expedited easier and is successful and that category being :

http://dmoz.org/Business/Construction_and_Maintenance/Restoration/

I am just concerned as to its placement of which I chose, not status.

If you believe that the category you named is the single best category for your site, and you have read the category guidelines, and that category accepts submissions, then by all means go ahead and submit. That method usually gets you in the correct "neighborhood" if not the correct category.

We no longer guide submitters through the process of selecting the best category for theier site.

Craig, please note that I am not an editor. I am just another member. However, having looked at your site, I believe that it is most definitely a candidate for a regional listing. You have the physical address of your office, the hours your office is open, and the means for someone to make an appointment. Regional is one of the few categories, that sometimes allows a second listing in the directory. If you submit there, it should neither help or hurt your other submission. This is a personal opinion only!

As an editor, I'll confirm what dogbows has said. A regional submission (probably to http://dmoz.org/Regional/North_Amer.../H/Hillsborough_Township/Business_and_Economy, or whereever your business is actually located, would not affect your submission to http://dmoz.org/Business/Construction_and_Maintenance/Restoration/
