IS DMOZ closed?

I want to whether DMOZ(dmoz.com) is closed forever? Why change it into dmoztools.net? Who could explain it?

Dmoz.org is closed by AOL. A temporary url for the directory is dmoztools.net. The editor community is planning to restart the directory at curlie.org.

We generally avoid SEO issues on these forums - But as our dmoz.org site simply doesn't exist anymore I don't see it affecting anything?
