I know that we are not supposed to submit our sites to dmoz ODP more than once, but can we submit to different search engines? For example Google has a place where we can enter an URL for their directory to be placed on their search engine.

I'm self employed and am trying to get my buisness going. I made a few mistakes when posting an inquiry on the status of my site here at dmoz, and now no one seems to want to deal me. I'm sorry I've made the mistakes, I have not done this before and am trying to follow the rules.

my login is lobolew, my last message is where I left off.

Thanks in advance,

Lewis.

Ofcourse it is allowed to submit to as many search engines as you want.
My advice: read the policy of each before submitting, they might have rules about submitting as we have

Note that clicking on the submit link in the legal ODP clones (which include the Google directory )take you to a submit form for the ODP category the data was taken from. So you are actually submitting to the ODP each time, or in other words, re-submitting to the same site (us) each time.

Google search engine also has a submit link, which is to get the site spidered, but not to appear in the directory.

There are many other directories that do not use ODP data, and you should submit to them, although as pvgool stated you should read their submission policies before submitting.

Good luck
