Is it okay to try getting listed in 2 directories?

Hi there,

I am very concerned about my site being listed in DMOZ as it is known to be a leader in its class and i therefore spent a lot of time considering which directory to place it in.

I decided to submit my site (Text-Messaging 4 Business) for listing in a regional listing {Regional/Europe/United_Kingdom/England/London/Barnet/Business_and_Economy/} as my first customer's reason for choosing me was that their company was in a nearby area and they preferred to go for a 'local' company.

Anyhow, i just read an article on the internet which suggested that DMOZ was 'happy' to recieve requests for placements in 2 directories if one of them was a regional directory.

Please can someone advise me whether that is a good idea or not, as i am very concerned.

Thanks.

I would encourage you to read tha Forum FAQ section which is linked at the top of the Forum and also in my signature. There is a section of the FAQ titled "Can I make a submission to my subject category and one to Regional where I am located?" which will provide more information.

The short answer is Yes. It is possible to receive two listings within the directory, if one is Topical and the other is Regional but an editor reviewing the site will have to make that determination.

Thanks.
