Is it possible nowdays to submit site to dmoz?

I've been trying to submit my site for a very long time? It seems like dmoz.org is not working - a lot of errors, time-outs, what is going on? Is it temporary problem - or dmoz does not accept submissions but they do it not officially?

We still have technical problems that are known to staff - but since the personal is a bit limited at the moment, it will take some time to resolve them.

Try accessing dmoz at times when you can assume that most of the USA is asleep, this may help.

I am for some time now trying to submit my site. I do this usually in the morning west-european time when most people in the US are asleep.
It does not help!! I am not getting through.
Also, quite often I get an error and I am asked for an editor name and password. This problem existed already in july. All this does not make me very optimistic about the future of ODP.

There are several problems currently active. They are summarized here. A common one is the time-out problem. I did some testing this morning at 7am (german summer time) and had no problems.

The other problems have to do with problems caused by the server works we had lately. Since technical staff is very limited (and afaik she is on vacation right now) it takes some time to repair them.

I don't understand why people always think DMOZ will have no future because of this problems? Technical problems are domething that can be solved. The future is determined by the amount of active editors - and at least in the german section we never had so many very active editors as today.

>This problem existed already in july.<

Whatever problems were occuring in July, they were not the same problems that are occuring now. There is an entirely different system operating now.
