Is it possible that your Search data is incorrect?

Hello, :)

I submitted my site's URL about two months ago.

Today I checked as a follow-up to see if it was listed in the DMOZ directory but of course it stated "No results".

However when I checked for further results in the other Search Engine Directories (Alta Vista, Google, Yahoo, etc.,) it was there!

What's going on?

Since Human Beings aren't infallible, is it possible there was an error?

Why wasn't my site listed?

It has NO Porno, etc., What's up? :icon_ques

Please advise.

Thanks

The ODP search is often not current -- there have been any number of threads that detail this.

It also is not intuitive. leave off th http:// and the www. and you will often get better results.

If you use our search to check if your website is listed, search for domain.tld without any http or www prefixes (eg google.com). That said, our search is based upon our RDF data dump, which is usually weekly, so it can be a couple of weeks out of date. For a definitive answer, look at the category itself.

We have no idea why your site shows up on other search engines. You'll have to ask them.

If your site isn't listed here, it's probably because no volunteer has yet volunteered to process it. Elapsed times can range from a few days to a few years. There's more information about that in this forum's FAQ.
