Is my site dismissed?

I am confused when I do a search in the directory, http://dmoz.org/Business/Industrial_Goods_and_Services/Industrial_Supply/Safety_Equipment_Supplies/Fire_Protection/ .My site http://www.nbfire.com/ has been in it for about one year. Could anyone help me to find out the reason?

Unfortunately, we cannot check this week due to some server upgrades. Please come back an post again in this thread once the upgrades have been completed.

Sites get moved or removed all the time, usually for good reasons.

Could you kindly give me any suggestion to improve my site? Maybe I couldn't ask so silly question as I know the ODP's rules of submission. I regard my site in the catalogue of ODP, as it's such a great data base.

I'm actually still seeing this site listed on the editor side, so it should show up on the public page once the two are back in sync (I don't know when that will be - but soon).

Thanks for your kindly reply. Does it mean that my site is still in the ODP's search database and will be back when the upgrade of the server is complete? Or it's waiting for reviewing over again?

It's still in the data base. It wasn't removed -- what happened was that the public pages were temporarily reverted to an earlier backup, from before your site was listed. So once the upgrade is complete and the public pages are refreshed, there it will be!

I noticed my site http://www.nbfire.com/ is in the category of http://dmoz.org/Business/Industrial_Goods_and_Services/Industrial_Supply/Safety_Equipment_Supplies/Fire_Protection/ when I do a search from the homepage, but I can't find it in the category. How does it happen? Is the database still the former version? Will my site come back soon?

The categories and search can show different results - what is shown when you visit the category itself is the most up to date version.

It appears that your site was deleted because it was unreachable on several occasions. I have just clicked on the link in your post above and I also find that the site is unreachable. I suggest that you solve this problem and then resubmit the site, commenting in the description that the problem has been resolved.

http://www.nbfire.com/ is still sitting in http://editors.dmoz.org/Business/Industrial_Goods_and_Services/Industrial_Supply/Safety_Equipment_Supplies/Fire_Protection

This a case of the various servers being out of sync.

N.B. John, read the editor's notes again. The listing was not deleted, just the duplicate submission.

I wonder what causes that? I'm using IE6 as well and that site always loads fine for me.

Dunno - still doesn't load for me and I'm now at a different computer on a different network in a different building. This one's a Mac (bleurgh...) running IE.

I clicked on your url, and it takes quite a long time to load. I use Win NT on LAN.
